A highly experienced and widely respected industry expert, and a former Chair of the FLA Motor Division. Peter held commercial leadership roles in Lombard and Bank of Scotland with responsibility for a number of premium motor manufacturer and retailer relationships including Managing Director of Jaguar Cars Finance and PSA Finance, also sitting on the boards of several other JV businesses, including Lex Vehicle Leasing Holdings.
He is an active participant in industry initiatives, to which he brings deep product, sales, regulatory, and risk insights. He is currently a Managing Director at Finance Torque and also Chair of the Fellowship of the Motor Industry.
Tarun has focused on the Automotive and specialty lending sector for over 30 years. As a Chartered Accountant he worked in the industry as Finance Director for various independent and captive finance Automotive finance businesses.
In 2003 he was asked to join Grant Thornton UK to establish a specialist advisory practice in this finance sector. Under his leadership this team ultimately became a multi-disciplinary leading advisory practice.
In 2018 he established his own Advisory Practice, TMA, to directly support the industry deliver value. Since its launch this practice has advised on over £12bn of debt and equity transactions across the UK and Continental Europe and across various lending business models.
Tarun is also a Non-Executive Director of the Mistral Bus & Coach leasing group and the Leeds Credit Union which focuses on providing financial services and advice to vulnerable communities. The Credit Union is one of the larger unions with over 30,000 members and is authorized by the PRA and FCA.
Tarun was also a founding director of the Leasing Foundation and Patron of the Asset Finance Professionals Association. He is also a Freeman of the City of London through the Worshipful Company of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales.
